firebird2.5-classic-common software package provides common files for firebird 2.5 classic and superclassic, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install firebird2.5-classic-common
firebird2.5-classic-common is installed in your system.
Make ensure the firebird2.5-classic-common package were installed using the commands given below,
